“We are social animals,” says Howard Lewis. “Our peak
experience is performing live, engaging others, taking them
to places they may not anticipate, and touching hearts. It is
a collective endeavor. Plus it's like playing golf or scoring
a goal in soccer. It isn't uplifting because it is easy. It is
fulfilling because it is so hard.”
We live in an era when people all over the world are
intensely focused on “surviving,” whatever that means to
them personally. For a Sub-Saharan nomad, it may mean
getting enough water or food. For an advertising executive
in New York it may mean holding on to a cash cow
account. But universally, we all occasionally need to look
at ourselves and others from a fresh perspective,
celebrating life. That's what we do. Plus we set it to
music. How whacky is that!
